10 ways I love to use Lemon Essential Oil
Use 5-8 drops in a diffuser to keep energy levels high or as an airfreshener. I love diffusing this in the morning to add some brightness to the day.
2 In the Laundry
Lemon is a natural stain remover. Pop a drop on your stain right before you put it in the wash (don’t let it sit as the lemon could leave a yellow discolouring to the garment). Also add it to your liquid or powder or to your rinse section to add a lovely natural scent to freshen your clothes.
There are many essential oils that can help with odours and lemon is one of my go to oils for this. Add a drop to the bottom of your garbage bin, down your drains or in those smelly shoes.
4 Fresh spray
Mix about 10 -20 drops of lemon to a spray bottle (depending on size of bottle) and use around the house as an air freshener or as a toilet spray.
5 Sticky spots
Lemon is great for removing gum, oil, grease, glue and kids messes of textas and crayons. Add 1-2 drops to remove.
6 Skin and Hair
Add a drop to your evening moisturiser to reduce the appearance of blemishes and to help improve your complexion and moisturise your skin. Add a few drops to your conditioner to smooth and shine your hair.
Add a few drops to your dishwasher soap dispenser and watch your dishes come out looking brand new.
I use lemon daily in my water bottle. It turns a boring water into a refreshing drink.
9 Food Flavouring
If the recipe calls for the juice of a lemon or lemon rind try adding a drop or two of Lemon oil to the recipe. Start with 1 drop as lemon oil is so concentrated if you use more the dish may be overpowered. Add extra drops to your taste.
Use lemon oil around the house as a cleaner. Sparkly sinks and taps, as a natural bleach for tile grout and on all your surfaces. Add 5-10 drops to 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar for a great clean.
